Welcome to Our New Pastor Father Anthony Weis

Fr. Weis delivers homily

Father Anthony Weis, the new Pastor of St. Patrick Catholic Church, celebrated his first Masses with us on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11.

A large gathering of parishioners was present at the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass to attend Mass and to welcome Father Weis to St. Patrick.

Father explained that he has been a priest for 10 years and a pastor for five years. He previously served as pastor at Holy Spirit Parish in Winfield, Holy Family Parish in Fayette, and Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Haleyville. His appointment to St. Patrick was effective on October 7, 2020.

As he opened the Sunday Mass, he introduced himself and commented, "I'm glad to be here. And I think God will be praised in this Mass." Again, as he opened his homily he stated, "I'm very happy to be here." He preached specifically on the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the need for the faithful to return to the benefits and graces of the Sacrament.

We are happy to have Father Weis with us and look forward to his friendship and spiritual leadership for many years to come.
