Jeremy Scott Blanchard, Michael Wehby, Jr., and Joey Wehby became the newest members of St. Patrick Council 10567 when they went through the Knights of Columbus First Degree ceremony Thursday night at St. Patrick. Roy Brewer and James Gay, members of St. Joseph the Worker Council 10354, also went through the First Degree ceremony.
The new members were part of a district-wide first degree held at St. Patrick. Dignitaries attending were Past State Deputy Mike Renda, District Deputy Jack Boggan and Council 10354 Grand Knight Ken Friedrich. The First Degree was done in honor of Pope Benedict XVI.
The Council 10567 First Degree team did another outstanding job and consisted of Phil Slovensky, Chris Muro, Dale Blanchard, Charles Blanchard, Gaeton Conte, Rob Smith and Joseph Conte.
Jeremy Blanchard is the grandson of Brother Knight Charles Blanchard, the son of Brother Knight Dale Blanchard and the brother of Brother Knight Douglas Blanchard. He is a senior at Minor High School and enjoys baking and working on cars.
Joey and Mike Wehby, Jr., are the sons of Brother Knight Mike Wehby and his wife Patty. Joey owns Wehby Heating and Cooling.
