Two St. Patrick Students Receive Louis N. Muro Memorial Scholarship
St. Patrick Knights of Columbus Council 10567 is proud to recognize Haylee Fadlevich and Justin Richerzhagen as this year's recipients of the Louis N. Muro Memorial Scholarship.
Haylee, the daughter of Martin and Gena Fadlevich, is a recent graduate of Sumiton Christian High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. A 4.0 student, Haylee served as Treasurer of the Student Government Association (SGA) and was Captain of the Color Guard. Haylee describes herself as a "dedicated, hard-working student with God as the center of my life."
Justin Richerzhagen Haylee Fadlevich
Justin is the son of Joey and Cecilia Richerzhagen. A graduate of Minor High School, Justin is a standout musician who served in the Minor band. He also plays in the "Absolute Presence" musical group at St. Patrick. He served the SPIRIT Youth Group at St. Patrick for many years and was recognized by the Catholic Diocese of Birmingham with this year's Alpha Award. Justin looks forward to college "as a way for me to further my skills as a student and also as a musician."
Knights of Columbus Council 10567 began awarding a scholarship to deserving high school seniors in 1995. Applicants are selected based on high academic achievement, outstanding service to Church, participation in Church youth activities and service to Community. In 1996 the award was renamed the Louis N. Muro Memorial Scholarship to honor Louis N. Muro, the founder and Charter Grand Knight of Council 10567. Thirty-two young people of St. Patrick have benefited from this scholarship since its inception. We are proud that our past recipients now serve as teachers, lawyers, journalists, nurses, accountants, psychologists and in many other fields.
