It's time to fill up the gym and proclaim, "It's our turn to win, OLV!" in support of our two St. Patrick Youth Basketball teams in their upcoming rematches against Our Lady of the Valley.
The St. Patrick Fighting Irish -- our high school boys team -- plays OLV Thursday, January 27, at 7:45 p.m., in the Father Raymond J. Murrin Family Life Center Gym. OLV is currently in first place in the Birmingham Catholic Basketball League, and St. Patrick must beat the Eagles to have any claim at first place by the end of the season. The two teams played January 16 at OLV, when the Irish suffered a heartbreaking 62-47 loss.
Two days following the Irish-Eagles high school match-up, the St. Patrick Wildcats -- our 5th/6th Grade girls team -- travel to OLV for a rematch of a January 8 game at St. Patrick, when the Lady Eagles defeated the Wildcats 16-12. St. Patrick hopes to deliver the same fate they suffered on January 8 to OLV: a loss on their home court.
To show appreciation to St. Patrick fans for supporting the Fighting Irish and the Lady Wildcats in their OLV rematches, St. Patrick Youth Sports is subsidizing admission at both games to allow St. Patrick fans to get in for just $1 for all ages 6 and above (under 6 is free). To receive admission for $1, print out this News story and bring it with you to the game (please print out a separate story for each game). Up to four people will be admitted for $1 each with each printed News story.
Be sure to wear St. Patrick colors at the games: green and white for the boys, pink and black for the girls. Good luck to both teams!
