Springfest 33 was held on Sunday, May 21, 2017. We had a great day of food, fun, and festivities including the return of our Italian feast of sausage, meatballs and spaghetti with a touch of Slovak traditional pagachi, cheese bread and some good ole American hot dogs to round out the menu. Our children's games, held indoors in the Raymond J. Murrin Family Life Center, were a big hit and the cake booth drew a crowd throughout the day. We were excited to add some new games this year as well as new prizes for the kids and our new Game Zone video gaming center. Our merchandise table sold our "Y'all Come" t-shirts and wristbands for the kids' games. The plant sale featured some favorites and also offered some new plants both indoor and outdoor contributed by our parishioners. We are thankful to our vendors who added to the experience by offering their goods for sale to our patrons. Our auctioneer and his team did a fabulous job of generating some super bids on our one-of-a-kind auction packages. The afternoon was interesting as Fr. Vernon drew names for the 10 - $100 raffle prize winners throughout the day and our grand prize winner was drawn at the end of the auction.
Our second prize $100 winners are as follows:
St. Patrick's Capital Improvement Fund
Fr. Vernon Huguley
Mrs. Ed Brown
James & Jean Vines (who also won $100 last year!)
John (Bo) Davidson
Our $2,000 grand prize winner is Kelly Whitaker.
Winners for the highest raffle ticket sellers are:
The Very Rev. Vernon Huguley - $100 for selling $755 in total raffle tickets
Jim & Barbara Glover - $50 for selling $705 in total raffle tickets
Gaeton Conte - $25 for selling $613 in total raffle tickets
Our auction was a huge hit. Our clothesline raffle ticket winner was Lisa Tulloss. She took home over $450' worth of gift cards, merchandise, and an additional $50 cash!
Our thanks to those who rolled up their sleeves and gave a total of eight pints of blood to the LifeSouth bloodmobile.
Our chairperson, Pam Palmer, expresses her thanks to all who worked so tirelessly to make this year's Springfest a success. She is also grateful to those who supported our effort by attending on Sunday. "I'm so blessed and proud to be a part of this parish family, where everyone works together and pulls off such a fantastic community event! baking cakes, harvesting plants, selling tickets, advertising, cooking and preparing food, selling and serving food and drinks, working booths, taking out the trash, decorating, selling plants, selling t-shirts, hanging posters, passing out flyers, putting out signs, set-up and break-down, donations of time, talent, and treasure, all of which came together and pulled off SPRINGFEST 33!!!!"
