With a theme of Keep Calm and Springfest,St. Patrick Catholic Church in Adamsville is excited to announce that our 32nd annual Springfest celebration will be held on Sunday, May 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Springfest has become an annual tradition in western Jefferson County and in the Catholic Diocese of Birmingham. Those purchasing raffle chances will have an opportunity to win the $2,000 grand prize of one of the 10 separate drawings for a $100 cash prize.
This year’s event will feature our popular menu of traditional Italian cuisine with homemade Italian sausage, available in a hoagie sandwich with peppers, or as a part of a combo plate. Our famous spaghetti and meatballs will also be back as well as our delicious meatball hoagies. And speaking of tradition, the ever popular Slovak pagachi will be part of the menu as well. Rounding off the fabulous menu will be hot dogs with all the trimmings and homemade desserts galore.
One of the most popular features of Springfest is our auction. It is always fun and will feature items valued at hundreds of dollars, including gift certificates, furniture and one-of-a-kind collector’s items. The auction will be held in the St. Joseph Hall and will begin at 1:30 p.m. Faith Harper of Gardendale will be returning as our auctioneer this year. Auction items will be available for viewing in the St. Joseph Hall beginning the weekend of April 15th. Silent bids can be placed in person beginning on that weekend. All items will be viewable from our website and all packages will be available for purchase online via our “Spring for It Now” pricing.
Back by popular demand will be a commemorative Springfest t-shirt featuring our Keep Calmand Springfest theme.
What would Springfest be without our cake booth? Participants can spin to win a home-baked cake for only 50 cents per chance and have a fun time doing it. Also, if you are a gardener you will enjoy picking up a few new treasures at our plant sale.
Children will also be entertained with fun games that allow them to win prizes. We will also have inflatable slides and a variety of bouncy houses.
Chances for the $2,000 grand prize are already on sale. Purchase a single raffle ticket for a $1 donation and you could win the grand prize or one of the 10 separate drawings for $100 cash. The $100 drawings begin at 1 p.m. and will end with the grand prize drawing of $2,000 at 3 p.m. You can purchase raffle chances (12 for $10 or 6 for $5) from any parishioner or contact the church office.
Springfest chairperson Pam Palmer said, “I am proud to be working with such an amazing group of parishioners dedicated to making our Springfest celebration a tremendous success. We look forward to welcoming our friends and families back to St. Patrick for a wonderful day of food, fun and fellowship.”
As always, admission to the event is free and parking is available right on the church grounds. Those who wish may attend the 10 a.m. Mass just prior to the start of Springfest 32.
