Bishop Robert Baker presided at the 4:00 PM Mass on Saturday, August 30, on the occasion of the official installation of Father Vernon Huguley as pastor of St. Patrick's Parish.
The service began with special music from the choir and special guest musician and friend of Father Vernon, Charles Diggins, played and sang a beautiful rendition of To God Be the Glory. The Knights of Columbus Assembly 10567 Fourth Degree provided the honor guard for the procession of our celebrants as Mass began. The service included the reading of Bishop Baker's June 2008 letter to Father Vernon appointing him as pastor of our parish. Bishop Baker then asked Father Vernon affirm his commitment to his ministry and the people of St. Patrick's. Thereafter he asked the attendees to likewise commit to the support of Father Vernon as pastor of the chuch. He then called up various staff and leaders of the parish and thanked them for their commitment to the parish.
A reception followed Mass in the St. Joseph parish hall. Check out the photos within this news article and additional photos by clicking here.
We are most happy to welcome Father Vernon as our new spiritual leader and wish him many happy years with us here in our parish.
