The Prayer Shawl Ministry is pleased to provide some information on all our activities during the first half of 2017.

We have made and given:

  • 19 shawls or throws to parishioners and friends who have had surgery or were in the hospital
  • 8 throws to people for comfort after a loss
  • 15 blankets to the Footprints Organization
  • a throw to Father Underwood at St. John Vianney House
  • 16 shawls or throws to the VA Nursing Home in Pell City
  • 5 throws to the Sisters in the infirmary at Sacred Heart in Cullman
  • 38 hats and 21 scarves to the Changed Lives Christian Center
  • 28 shawls or throws to the Little Sisters of the Poor in Mobile
  • 10 shawls or throws to Eastview Nursing Home
  • 10 shawls or throws to Self-Nursing Home
  • 24 hats, 19 shawls and throws to a local Oncology Department.

In addition to this list of kindnesses, we made a trip to the VA Hospital and Nursing home in Tuscaloosa to bring 30 throws to the men and 10 shawls for women. This is quite a feat considering that we have a  small group of eight faithful workers: Jimmie Chicarello, Pam Dodd, Margaret Kernan, Pat Roden, Barbara Thompson, Patty Wehby, Hilda Willis and Mary Evans.

We would like to thank all those who have made a monetary donation, or a yarn donation. Also, we would like to thank those who help us pray for all these people who truly need our prayers.
