Knights from St. Patrick Council 10567 were among several hundred patrons who attended the annual fundraiser for the North Jefferson Women's Center on Thursday, September 14, 2014.

The annual fundraiser for the abortion alternative women's center was attended by Grand Knight Gerald Kiker and his wife Mary and Past Grand Knight Louis Muro and his wife Brenda. There were representatives from John Carroll Catholic High School, other Knights of Columbus Councils, and several parishioners from St. Patrick and other Catholic parishes.

The North Jefferson Women's Center, located in Fultondale, offers pregnacy counseling, prenatal classes, free pregnancy testing, free ultrasound confirmation, testing for sexually transmitted diseases, and many other services for women.

Attendees were served a meal followed by the invocation delivered by Father Michael Deering, pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Gardendale. After watching a video that included testimonials from women who have benefitted from the Center's services, the keynote address was delivered by Molly Anne Dutton. Ms. Dutton, who is the reigning Auburn University homecoming queen, told her story about being adopted and how she has led a blessed life thanks to her mother and her faith.

The North Jefferson Women's Center is located at 1209 Decatur Highway in Fultondale. For more information or questions, go to their website at www.njwomenscenter.com or call 205-808-9001. You can also send them an email at njwomenscenter@yaoo.com.
