On Sunday, November 17, over 30 men and women parishioners were honored for their service and sacrifice to our country during the 10:00 AM Mass. Retired Major General Michael J. Diamond, a parishioner himself, addressed the congregation with comments about how the service of country is greatly connected to one's faith as it is that faith that is key to getting through some of the difficult times experienced during that service. He also thanked the families of those who served saying that without their support and love, the service men and women could not have been able to perform their duties and roles. Those who were recognized were from WWII, the Korean War or Vietnam War era. General Diamond also asked those who had served in more recent conflicts to stand and be recognized as well. He asked for continued prayers for those still serving both in the country and abroad.
