John Martignoni, Director of the Office of the New Evangelization and Founder and President of the Bible Christian Society, will give a series of talks at St. Peter the Apostle in Hoover on three consecutive Wednesday nights: March 6th, March 13th and March 20th.
The talks will focus on evangelization and apologetics and will begin at 7 p.m. each night. There is no admission charge.
These talks will give Catholics the information, and the strategies and techniques, they need to go out and start evangelizing. With the younger folks – middle school and high school – it will help to immunize them from the questions about, and even the attacks on, their faith, from well-meaning but misinformed non-Catholics, that they will sooner or later see and hear in high school and college and beyond.
The first Wednesday night will be about why evangelization is so important and some very easy, common-sense techniques that anyone can use when engaged in a conversation about the faith. The 2nd week we’ll be talking about how to answer the Evangelical test questions – “Are you saved?” “Have you been born again?” And so on. In other words, is it faith alone that saves us, or do works play a role in our salvation? The third week we will be talking about the Bible alone vs. the Bible and Tradition.
Each talk will start at 7 p.m. and will last less than an hour. If you want to stay after that, there will be a Q&A session for up to 45 minutes.
