Vatican, Jun. 19, 2007 (CWNews.com) - The Vatican has announced the theme for the Pope's message for the 41st annual World Day of Peace: "The Human Family, Community of Peace."
The World Day of Peace is observed on January 1. The papal message for that occasion is usually released several weeks in advance of the date, and formally delivered to diplomats who attend Mass at the Vatican on New Year's Day.
Pope Benedict XVI chose the theme for his 2008 message, the Vatican announced, because of "his conviction that the perception of a common destiny and the experience of communion are essential factors in the realization of the common good."
