Music Ministers to Attend Workshop - We Need Your Help

News Image

We need your monetory help to enrich the musical skills of our volunteer musicians / choir members /cantors.

The Foundation for Liturgical Music (FLM) will hold Music Ministry Series XI ( MMSXI ) June 28 – 30, 2007, at its’ NEW location, John Carroll Catholic High School. This music workshop offers the most exceptional skill reinforcement and development of vocalists, liturgists, and instrumentalists for its’ 2 ½ days. The workshop is facilitated by composers from OCP and GIA (music publishers of our church Hymnals), who come to Birmingham and present spiritual and musical reinforcement to the participants (not only of the catholic faith) who come from Alabama and the surrounding states. The Parish has been financially able to send two participants each year. Last year, the third attendee made arrangements to provide their own tuition. This year, with the addition of Absolute Presence, St. Patrick’s own praise and worship band, our goal is to raise money to pay the tuition of $250 per person to open this opportunity to some of the band members and cantors who have not attended in the past. The FLM is a non-profit organization and sponsors this event every year. This is the first time your monetary assistance has been requested for YOUR music providers. If you can help in any way ($5, $10, or full/partial tuition of $250 dollars) to send more of the volunteers who lead the music at our Parish to this conference, please contact Father Bean, Pegi Gilmore or Janet Rubino no later than Friday, June 1, 2007.

Thank you in advance for your financial assistance.
