Journey, our small group, faith sharing program has begun and parishioners have expressed excitement about the program.
Ronnie Muro, who organized the program, said, "I feel very strongly along with others that Journey brings something to our parish we have needed for a long time. It is important that we, as Catholics, continue to strenghten our faith and develop our spirituality. Journey gives us the chance to do this as individuals, but at the same time by sharing with the small group, we bond and learn from each other. As our groups begin to reach out and share with the larger community, the hope is that not only will we grow as individuals, but that our parish will become stronger and active in reaching out to others to do the work of the Lord."
Meetings are being held at St. Patrick, Gardendale, Mt. Olive, Forestdale, Adamsville, Sumiton and Warrior. There are more than 80 persons participating. Groups are using the meetings for reading, reflection, discussion and prayer. The book being used is Relating to Others as Jesus Would, a texbook which will be their guide to a successful Journey.
