St. Patrick Springfest Efforts Giving Back to the Community

News Image

Springfest may have been cancelled but the workers dedicated to our annual event are working harder than ever in a different and important capacity: feeding our community. The food purchased and prepared that would have been sold to attendees of our annual Springfest celebration was boxed up and delivered to many communities in the surrounding areas of our church. Some of the areas served are:

  • Sandusky
  • Pratt City
  • North Smithfield
  • Argo
  • Sipsey

In addition, members of the National Guard, Birmingham Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, and utility workers in the field were served hot meals which included home made spaghetti and meatballs, hoagie sandwiches, hamburgers, desserts, water, and tea. The Graysville, Adamsville, and 78-West Fire Departments' first responders were also served a hot meal in our St. Joseph Hall.

Our outreach will continue in the coming days by coordinating with local officials and delivering staple goods such as baby food and supplies, ready-to-eat food, toiletries, clothing and other important needs. Click the picture below to view a complete photo album of the efforts of our parish community and friends who donated and worked so diligently in this effort.
