St. Patrick Catholic Church had a very visible presence at the August Pro-Life March and Rosary on Southside.

With members of St. Patrick Knights of Columbus Council taking the lead, 24 members of the Church attended the Pro-Life Mass at St. Stephen the Martyr Church and continued to the abortion mill to pray the four Rosaries.

Father Gray Bean, St. Patrick Pastor and Chaplain for Council 10567, said the Mass at St. Stephen with the assistance of Deacon Dan Whitaker, a former parishioner and deacon at St. Patrick.

Father Bean delivered a stirring homily on "life" and the spirit continued during the procession to the abortion mill and the praying of the Rosaries. It was a busy day at the abortion mill, making it a very emotional day as the crowd witnessed the deaths of many unborn babies while praying the Rosaries.

The "St. Patrick Pro-Life Day" was initiated by Council 10567 as an effort to involve the entire parish in the monthly Pro-Life Mass, March and Rosary. The Council hopes to make it an annual event.

St. Patrick parishioners attending the event were Father Gray Bean, Sister Maura Sampson, Phil Slovensky, Charles Blanchard, Gaeton Conte, Joseph Conte, Mike Hobe, Louis J. Muro, Ron Tillerson, Rob Smith, Anita Skocik, Patti Wilson, Phil and Julia Neely, Clay and Pat Reece, Paul and Jo Vizzinia, Doug, Jessica and Baby Blanchard and Don and Doris Thompson.
