St. Patrick Knights of Columbus Council 10567 received the prestigious State Deputy Award for Council Activities at the annual convention of the Alabama Knights of Columbus April 24 - 26.

The award recognizes the Council for the outstanding Council activity programs held during the 2008 calendar year.

Council 10567 Grand Knight Ronnie Muro said, "I was excited to accept the award on behalf of the men of Council 10567.  We have the greatest council in the state and we really don't need an award to tell us that. Still, it was great to see the men of our council recognized for their outstanding effort and participation over the past year.  We continue to average 40 or more men at our meetings and over 70 different Knights have attended meetings over the past year. Our "Band of Brothers" and other programs continue to reach out to all Knights to get them involved.  Congratulations to the Brother Knights of our council for all their work in serving St. Patrick and St. Stanislaus."

Grand Knight Ronnie Muro and Past Grand Knight Mike Muro served as delegates to the convention, which was held at the Sheraton in downtown Birmingham.
