The 2008 St. Patrick Parish Angel Tree Project kicks off the weekend of Saturday, November 15, and will benefit a local Grades K-5 school. Previously, Pathways (formerly "Bread and Roses"), a shelter for homeless women and children, received help through Angel Tree donations, but Pathways has received increasing amounts of support from other organizations, so St. Patrick's focus this year will be on the local community.
Fr. Vernon Retrieves Angel from the Tree
This year, we will help 30 children and their families who have a much greater need and who receive help from no one else. The children will be the "white angels" on our tree, and their gifts, along with stockings and fruit, will be delivered to the school counselors for distribution before the Christmas break.
If our Angel Tree response is as generous as it has been in the past, we will buy groceries for the children and their families. We will also continue to support the homeless men at the Firehouse Shelter with their clothing packages.
