Leonard R. "Jake" Grainger died on May 10, 2012 at the age of 95.

Jake was born in Pratt City, Alabama in 1917 and a lifelong resident of Birmingham. He retired from U.S. Steel where he worked for 43 years.

He proudly served his country in World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He attended Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and Alabama Crimson Tide fan.  Jake joined the Knights of Columbus on November 1, 1994. His Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, May 12 at Prince of Peace and he is interred at the Prince of Peace Columbarium.
