Mel Melton passed away on April 22, 2007 at the age of 78.

A Fourth Degree Knight, Mel joined the Knights on August 1, 1994 and became a Third Degree Knight on December 3, 1995. He went through the Fourth Degree Exemplification on February 18, 1996. Mel was a Korean War veteran who served 10 years in the U. S. Army.

Mel was an active member of the Knights and he and his wife Josephine were very active in the St. Patrick Sunshine Club and the annual St. Joseph Day. Mel was a lector for many years and was a fixture calling bingo at the church's annual Springfest.
